The Importance of Partners

Posted: November 9, 2010 in Uncategorized

In I Kings 5, King Solomon began to make preparations for building the temple.  He was purposed to do this for the glory of God.  “And behold, I purpose to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God…” (vs. 5)  However, he needed some help.  He could not do this enormous task on his own.  He realized that he needed the help of others.  He called on Hiram, king of Tyre, to be his partner in the work.  The Sidonians had great skill in hewing timber–the Israelites did not.   “And the LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him: and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon; and they two made a league together.”  This league was one of the major keys to the success of this temple.  Part of being a wise person is realizing your own limitations and weaknesses.  As my family has launched out on this journey of planting a church, we are well aware of our need for other helpers.  We praise the Lord for the partners he has already put in our path and those who will come along side us in the future.
