The Forgotten Prayer Warrior

Posted: November 17, 2010 in Uncategorized

I read something amazing today in Romans 8: 26,27.  “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.  And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”  We know that other saints are praying for us.   We might even know that Jesus is praying for us.  Praise the Lord!  But do we realize that we have a prayer warrior inside of us that is making intercession for us right now?  I believe that the Holy Spirit often is the forgotten God.  He is just as much God as the God the Father and God the Son.  One of His numerous functions in the life of the believer is to pray for us.  Notice these encouraging aspects of his prayers.  1.  He always prays for us. Human prayer partners will forget, but not the Holy Spirit.  2.  He know us better than anyone else. The wisdom of fathers and friends is limited, but not the wisdom of God.  He knows us and He knows our need.  3.  He always gets His prayer answered. Sometimes a Christian prays but does not receive an answer because of sin–not the Holy Spirit.  4.  He always prays in the will of God. Other and even ourselves are limited.  We only see the here and now.  The Holy Spirit is God, so He know what God’s will is.  Thank you, Holy Spirit for your countless perfect prayers that you have prayed for me today!
