How’s Your Equity Looking For The New Year?

Posted: December 28, 2010 in Uncategorized

A wise businessman is always trying to increase their personal equity.  However, today I am not speaking of equity found in buildings, but that which is found in the Bible.  Proverbs 1:3 says, “To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;” A basic knowledge of biblical vocabulary can be extremely beneficial.  The word equity means “evenness or straightness.”  The wisest man in the Bible tells all of us to receive this quality into our lives.  In the midst of  an uneven, ever changing world, we need Christians who will learn to have equity.  May we live a consistent Christian life.  Too often we are roaring flames one day and fading embers the next. Too often we are strong in one area, but very weak in another.  The Apostle Paul gives us a similar challenge in Ephesians 5:15, “See then that ye walk circumspectly…” May this new year find us inspecting every area of our lives and striving to become more like Christ.  How’s your equity looking for the new year?
